Forest Rugby In The Community

Forest Rugby is dedicated to making a difference in our community.  Our charity partners are carefully selected with two main criteria in mind.  We target charities that dedicate themselves to supporting the vulnerable and helping to cause change in areas of social importance plus ensuring our funds can be dedicated to programs directly operating in our local community.  Whilst no doubt Rugby is a key focus of the Club, the Committee is passionate about its role and responsibility to contribute more broadly to our community and society in general.

Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations to Joanna Iliffe!! Our Volunteer of the Month for July. Thank you for the time, energy and passion you bring to our club and players each week. 💚🤍💚

👉What roles do you fulfill at Forest?
I am on the junior committee and I am the Juniors Social Media Coordinator.

👉What brought you to Forest?
A friend invited our twin boys to a Try Rugby session in 2021. They absolutely loved it and joined the U9s that season. We havent looked back since!

👉Whats your favourite thing about the club?
There are so many things I love about Forest, but its the people that make it special. The friendships, dedicated coaches, volunteers and the fantastic community spirit, both on and off the field, make it such a great club to be part of.

👉Favourite team?
Id have to say the NSW Waratahs Womens team—or really any womens rugby team. I admire their grit, fearlessness and the genuine joy they have playing. Its inspiring to watch.

👉Favourite player?
My boys and their teammates! Watching their friendships and game confidence grow each season is the best part of rugby for me.

👉Any favourite rugby quote?
The strength of the pack is each player, and the strength of each player is the pack. – This sums up what Forest is all about: everyone contributing, supporting one another and achieving more together.

Minis Inter Districts Gala

Forest to the rescue! It was a northern beaches medley for 2 of our U9s that were available and keen, and joined Lindfield.

Gabriel and Rasmus played a first game which was Lane Cove vs. a blend of Lindfield, Newport and our 2 Forest boys. Next they played against Lindfield, lending a hand to the seriously depleted Manly Roos.

Finally they played Ryde as Lindfield and Rasmus scored their only try!

Great rugby spirit and teamwork boys.
