UPDATE: Junior Rugby 2018 Registration
Girls Rugby 2018
Season 2018 is almost upon is with the prospect of another year of great girls rugby! Forest is keen to build on our past years successes as we ride the enormous wave that is rugby 7s for girls. In particular, this year is our 60th year as a club so we are extra keen to promote and excel in this area.
In 2017 we had teams in U12s/U14s/U16s with number steadily growing throughout the year. Our target is to fill teams in four age groups with U18s as well. We only need roughly 9 girls to make a sustainable team.
- U12s – girls turning 11 or 12 in 2018
- U14s – girls turning 13 or 14 in 2018
- U16s – girls turning 15 or 16 in 2018
- U18s – girls turning 17 or 18 in 2018
We were very fortunate to have Koby Forrest last year help us with coaching however he is now going to play rugby so can not return in 2018. Ali Duncan and myself are back but with the ever growing number of teams, we are keen to have other join in the fun. If you are interested in being a coach or manager this year, please let me know. It is a very fun and rewarding experience. It has its stresses on game day but you will be well supported and we’ll even organize specific training courses to assist you with the role.
Two full rounds will be held over school term 1 and 2 in 2018 with games held at various locations around Sydney. All our Forest teams will typically be at the same location but may not all kick off at the same time. At each round all teams will play 2 x 14 minute games as a minimum. Special gala days will be organized for school term 3 as well. Registration is all done online now. The link should be setup up shortly. Please check back here in the near future.
