Another sensational day of Rugby was had by a group of superb athletes at the peak of their technical and physical careers. Golden Oldies Rugby is great because you don't need slow motion replays, well the players don't but the refs do. We drew with Terrigal in the first game 0-1 even though our brilliant cover defence brought him down short of the line but was still awarded a try. We then went on to the highlight of the day having an excellent 2-0 draw with the Newport Nasties which upset them greatly and earning us great kudos at the bar.
After lunch we went on to play Gordon and Oak Hill, Gordon pulled a swiftly and brought on a girl, well that put our predominantly French back line in a tither, they didn't know whether to jump on her our serenande her. At one stage I thought Pierre was going to break out a picnic blanket, some Canapes, Fois-Gras and a cheeky little Bordeaux. In the end they admired her from afar as she ran past on the way to the try line. She's a girl guys always jump on her.
The Oak Hill game was pretty uneventful given that it was our fourth game and we only had nine guys in the morning a 12 in the afternoon. Eveyone was a little tired and in need of a beer, although Peter Baker fired up, people always say that props are big slow and stupid but at least they have one arm free to defend themselves in a scrum when they mouth off at the opposition, hookers just have a head poking out waiting to be hit.
I reckon that special mention must go to Kevin 'Bloody' Turner who was quick to the break down and defended all day long, but Man of the Match was Jacques who tackled, ran and made breaks all over the place, mate we would be able to support you better if you weren't so fast.
